New Year Pledge

21 01 2008

Happy (belated) New Year, and welcome to the first post of 2008!

Granted, I’ll have to admit, updates have been relatively slow to date, given that the site hasn’t been updated since our legal dispute at the start of November. So, I pledge to you, our readers (?), it’s a new year, so it’s about time for some updates, and new content.

So here we are, in the middle of January, which any student will know is the heart of the exam ’season’. This is usually the time when I gloss over revision, and precide to code a new site, from scratch. However, now that we’ve got wordpress running smoothly, and even though I have a lot of spare time (thank you Microsoft), I can’t bring myself to ruin it, so you’ll have to settle for a slightly uninspired blog post from me instead.

In an ideal world, I’d be able to do what I want. On OwnedbyHleb for example, there would a month-by-month diary of Aliaksandr Hleb. However, as I am a full-time student with a (somewhat mildly) active social life, I simply don’t have the time or money to watch the performances of Hleb on a weekly basis, or then create a diary.

On the other hand, Arsenal FC are one of the largest, and probably richest clubs in the world. It wouldn’t surprise me if they employed someone for the sole purpose of writing these month-by-month blogs on their website. Now, here on Owned by Hleb, that diary feature would be a fantastic feature, but I doubt we’re allowed to use it.

In fact, I think we’d be in some serious trouble if we attempted to use it, despite the massive accreditations to Arsenal which we used to display.

Below I have details of the email contact with Arsenal regarding our website.
